Have you tried the Bromsgrove Folk Club Experience?

It is held in a large comfortable room with a bar. And as for the music, we pride ourselves on booking artists who

ENTERTAIN

(a dirty word in some clubs)

In addition to guest nights, when we present the best on the current scene from this country and beyond, on 4 nights during the year we have a "Showcase" where performers come along & show us what they can do; maybe you'll want us to give them a booking.

You don’t have to be a member  just come along, bring a friend and enjoy!

We meet, on the Second and Last Thursday of every month

We start at 8:00pm until 10:30

at: Catshill Club

Hi guys and gals

Next up at Bromsgrove (Thursday 26th April we have the multi-talented Joe Topping.....a great night is in store from this true troubadour who first realised the power of music when he had his trousers stolen in Canada. They were his only pair and his wallet was in the pocket!

In a foreign country with no friends, no money and nothing to cover his Union Jack boxer shorts, the one thing of use Joe did still have was his guitar, which, after borrowing a pair of jeans, he took down to the harbour and started busking. This experience earned him enough money to get by and also introduced him to new friends and adventures. It continues to do so to this day.

Being from a folkie family Joe first heard traditional music in the folk clubs and then he grew up around the Americana and blues influences from his adventures in the USA which have included living in a pickup truck and driving around America for the best part of a year and later walking 1400 miles with a guitar on his back from Chicago to New Orleans!

Joe has developed his own unique bottleneck guitar style which he employs in many of his original songs and has a voice that can move from velvet soft to steely and powerful. He has played on stage and in the studio with many legends of the British folk scene including members of Fairport Convention, While and Matthews, Andy Irvine and toured as stand in lead vocalist in the BBC2 award winning “Best live Act” Home Service and has been a member of the legendary Ashley Hutching’s Rainbow Chasers and is currently a member of British Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, Charlie Landsborough’s touring band and festival favourites, Elbow Jane.

 What fun we shall have!

 Look after one another
